Sarapiquí River Festival

The Sarapiqui River Festival was born as a strategy to promote the importance of conserving and protecting the beautiful Sarapiqui River while promoting river sports and providing local youth and families the opportunity to get on the river and try out rafting and kayaking.

Meghan and Davis in conjunction with a local community organization, Chilamate Activo, organize and plan the event along with generous support by local and international organizations, businesses, and people.

The festival takes place over three days and includes a Boater Cross race, Poza Azul Extreme Race, and an open race on the Lower Sarapiqui. Additionally, there are activities for the entire family to enjoy the river on the final day of the festival.

The 2015 Festival will take place on November 20th, 21st, and 22nd, 2015!!! Mark it on your calendar! First place in the Masters Race will be taking home a new kayak!
