Trails in our Private Reserve Chilamate Jungle
Given the location of the Chilamate Rainforest Eco Retreat and the private reserve Chilamate Jungle, in the heart of the San Juan la Selva Biological Corridor, a key piece of the larger Meso- American Biological Corridor, and the proximity to the la Selva Biological Station and Braulio Carrillo National Park, it is very easy to appreciate a wide biodiversity of species including animals such as monkeys, armadillos, pacas, a great variety of bird, amphibians insects, and much more.
Chilamate Rainforest Eco Retreat has a private reserve of 20 hectares of rainforest with around 6km of trails, some of which are appropriate for self-guided walks.
For guests that stay a minimum of three nights we offer a complementary 2 hour guided naturalist walk in our reserve or a 2 hour forest therapy session led by Retreat owner Meghan Casey who is a certified forest therapy guide. For Retreat guests who stay 1-2 nights we can offer you the guided naturalist walk for $15 per person and the forest therapy session for $20 per person. For others, who are not staying at the Retreat, the cost is $30 per person for a guided naturalist walk and $40 per person for a 2.5 hour forest therapy session.
